A Letter from the rhea County
director of tourism
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
It is both an honor and a privilege to serve as the Director of Tourism for Rhea County. Over the past two years, I have had the opportunity to work alongside many of you to strengthen, promote, and elevate the place we are proud to call home.
As a lifelong resident of Rhea County, my passion for this community runs deep. My educational journey through Middle Tennessee State University and Bryan College, paired with my international experience serving as an ambassador in Tono, Iwate, Japan, has shaped my perspective on tourism—not just as promotion, but as storytelling, relationship-building, and economic development. That global experience reinforced something I’ve always known: what we have here in Rhea County is truly special.
In my time as Director, our focus has been clear—create meaningful visitor experiences while driving measurable impact for our local economy. From expanding our fishing tournament presence and supporting major events, to enhancing our marketing platforms and strengthening partnerships across our cities, businesses, and organizations, we are building momentum. Tourism is not just about attracting visitors—it’s about creating opportunities for our community, supporting local businesses, and showcasing the authentic character of Rhea County.
This work would not be possible without the collaboration and support of our local leaders, partners, and residents. Your willingness to engage, adapt, and invest in our shared vision has been instrumental in our progress.
On a personal note, my greatest joy is my family. My husband, Jed, and I are raising our two children, Waylon and Savannah, here in Dayton, where we are rooted in faith, hard work, and a deep love for this community. Rhea County isn’t just where I work—it’s home.
As we look ahead, I am committed to continuing this work with intentionality and purpose. There is still much to accomplish, and I am excited for what lies ahead as we continue to position Rhea County as a destination worth experiencing.
